North Las Vegas Councilman Isaac Barron is teaming up with the Neighborhood Recreation Center to get children and families ready for the new school year.
Each child will receive a new backpack filled with school supplies. Community partners also will be on hand to provide resource information and back-to-school goodies.
Equipping students with backpacks, pencils and other necessary school supplies relieves parents and teachers from having to worry about providing these items and enables students to start the school year prepared and ready to achieve their best.
WHEN: 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019
WHERE: Neighborhood Recreation Center, 1638 N. Bruce St., North Las Vegas
Backpacks and supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Only kindergarten through 12th grade students will be eligible to receive a backpack. Students must be in attendance to receive a backpack, and the giveaway is limited to one backpack per student.
