Join the City of North Las Vegas for a free showing of Disney's "Zootopia" and free cadet training for kids.
The fun begins 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at North Las Vegas City Hall, 2250 Las Vegas Blvd. North, North Las Vegas.
This free, family event will feature a variety of "Zootopia"-themed activities for children of all ages. Kids can test their investigative skills and take part in officer challenges as part of our special Zoocademy, then earn their very own "Zootopia" police badge.
The first 500 children also will receive free backpacks and school supplies, courtesy of North Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tem Issac Barron and Nasser Alam of SFive Productions.
Other activities will include a petting zoo and bounce houses.
The event will culminate with a showing of the critically-acclaimed "Zootopia" on a big screen. The movie is scheduled to begin about 8 p.m.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the event.
Part of North Las Vegas' Tastes, Tunes & 'Toons series, the event is a partnership between the City, Amerigroup, Medic West and Republic Services.
For everyone’s viewing pleasure, please refrain from bringing high-backed chairs. Blankets and sling or beach chairs are welcome.
