Dan Muirhead, P.E. is the City of North Las Vegas’ Engineering Design Manager. Dan manages a staff of 12 highly dedicated professionals who are responsible for the development of construction bid documents for civil projects within the City’s Capital Improvement Program. These projects include roadways, bridges, traffic signals and traffic safety, flood control facilities, parks and trails, intelligent transportation systems and utilities.

Work within the Engineering Design section includes the selection, management and evaluation of outside design consultants, development of engineering reports and evaluations, coordinating right-of-way acquisitions and utility relocations, obtaining special permits, preparing design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates, design of projects in-house and administering the public bidding process.

Dan has worked for the City of North Las Vegas since 2004 performing in a variety of roles including Construction Manager, Utilities Project Manager, Manager of Construction Management and most recently as Engineering Design Manager.

Prior to joining the City, Dan worked 14 years with the City of Las Vegas, owned and operated a private land development consulting firm for 2 years and honorably served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. Dan has been a licensed Civil Engineer (PE) in the state of Nevada since 1994, received a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from UNLV also in 1994 and has been a resident of the Las Vegas valley since 1985.
