WELCOME TO THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE
The City Manager's Office executes and implements public policy as created by the North Las Vegas City Council. The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City. The City Manager's office administers and oversees daily operations of the City, as well as governmental relations, legislative and public affairs. The City Manager prepares and submits the City's annual budget; keeps the Council apprized of the City's financial and operational status; makes reports and recommendations to the Council; ensures that all City ordinances and resolutions are implemented and enforced; and hires all department directors. The City Manager oversees the Administrative Services Department, City Clerk, Finance, and Human Resources. The City Manager also oversees the administration of the Library in conjunction with the Library's Board of Directors.
Currently, Maryann I. Ustick is the Acting City Manager.
The Assistant City Manager of Operations oversees the Fire Department, Police Department, Parks & Recreation, and the Emergency Management Office. Samuel Chambers currently holds this post and reports directly to the Acting City Manager.
The Acting Assistant City Manager for Development Coordination coordinates special development projects and the activities of the departments of Community Development, Public Works, and Utilities Department. Kenny Young is currently serving in this position and reports directly to the Acting City Manager.
The Assistant to the City Manager oversees the compilation of performance measures, the organization of special projects, public information staff, franchise agreements, the monitoring of the City’s long-term plan for growth and development called Visioning 2025 Strategic Plan, and the City Manager's Administrative Staff. Michelle Bailey-Hedgepeth currently serves in this capacity and reports directly to the Acting City Manager.
